Shackamaxon Country Club Hosts U.S. Junior Amateur Sectional Qualifier Tournament on June 20
Shackamaxon Country Club will welcome a strong field of junior golfers who will be trying to qualify on June 20 for a spot in the prestigious U.S. Junior Amateur. The 2018 U.S. Junior Amateur is being held at Baltusrol Golf Club, both the Upper and Lower Courses, in Springfield, New Jersey, from July 16-21.
Competitors who chose to play their Sectional Qualifier at Shackamaxon will experience a classic A.W. Tillinghast design, which might prove helpful as Baltusrol’s two courses also were built by the legendary architect. The U.S. Junior Amateur Championship, the world’s premier junior event, is open to any male golfer who has not reached his 19th birthday as of July 21 and whose handicap index does not exceed 4.4. The U.S. Junior Amateur field will include 156 qualifiers.
Spectators are encouraged to watch golf’s future stars compete on June 20 at Shackamaxon.
